For example, questions like “when did you graduate college?” or “when do you expect to retire?” are both questions that allow the interviewer to estimate a person’s age.
While some questions, such as “when did you graduate college?” require a specific answer, questions that are more open ended, such as “when do you expect to retire?” can and should be answered more broadly; i.e., a person should not feel that they need to state a specific date or year for retirement, but rather speak generally about the many more years they expect to be able to give their career.
