Former Dean of University of Richmond, VA Sues for Gender Discrimination

A former associate dean of the University of Richmond, Virginia, has sued the college for gender discrimination. The female dean was a professor in the mathematics department since 1994. She alleges that in 2016, the college appointed a male as dean of the School of Arts and Sciences of gender discrimination. In 2017, she was appointed associate dean, but resigned months later.

Her lawsuit alleges that her male superior began to “systematically” humiliate her. She also alleges that he used his position’s power to demean and silence her.
