Former Kansas City News Anchor Settles Age Discrimination Suit

Former Kansas City news anchor Karen Fuller has settled her age discrimination lawsuit against Meredith. Fuller filed a lawsuit two and a half years ago, alleging age discrimination after she was abruptly let go. Fuller was 47 at the time of her termination.

Fuller’s lawsuit alleged that Meredith implemented an age ceiling for female news anchors. In the lawsuit, she alleged that the average age of female anchors at the company’s 17 stations is 40, whereas it is 51 for males.

The terms of the settlement have not been disclosed, which is likely due to a confidentiality provision in the agreement.
